Engineer

Three Rings, a San Francisco-based independent game developer and creator of Puzzle Pirates and Spiral Knights, is currently hiring software engineers to work on our in-production title, Doctor Who: Worlds in Time.

Doctor Who: Worlds in Time is an Adobe Flash-based MMO game being developed in conjunction with BBC Worldwide. The game is based on the successful UK sci-fi series, Doctor Who.

Three Rings maintains a strong emphasis on engineering innovation and excellence. The successful applicant will have:

• Knowledge of Java, our primary server platform
• Familiarity with Unix environments and SQL (MySQL, Postgres)
• Knowledge of good software engineering practices and a willingness to learn
• A strong educational background, not necessarily in Software Engineering
• Some experience with Flash is desirable, but not required

Three Rings engineers have the opportunity to participate across all levels of the game creation process and to work on a wide variety of different types of games, from 3D MMOs to Flash games, from the PC to tablets and phones.
